S.I.B.O. (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) |

We do noninvasive testing for S.I.B.O. (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), which is a common condition that occurs when bacteria (resembling bacteria normally found in the intestine) proliferate in large numbers in the small intestine. Studies have shown that over 50% of patients diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) have S.I.B.O. (ref). Symptoms of S.I.B.O. include:

  • Abdominal bloating or distension
  • Gas, diarrhea & constipation
  • Abdominal pain
  • In advanced cases, there may be vitamin and mineral deficiencies and weight loss

Our team of healthcare providers are able to quickly and easily test for S.I.B.O. on site in our Newtown, Connecticut office.
